IBPS SO 2019 Selection Criteria
The selection will be done on the basis of Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Interview.
IBPS SO 2019 Application Process
Candidates can apply for IBPS SO 2019 Recruitment by following steps:
- Candidates are first required to go to the IBPS’s website www.ibps.in and click on the Home Page to open the link “CRP Specialist Officers” and then click on the option “CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CRPSpecialist Officers (CRP-SPL-IX)” to open the On-Line Application Form.
- Candidates will have to click on “CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION” to register their application by entering their basic information in the online application form. After that, a provisional registration number and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. The candidate should note down the Provisional registration number and password. An Email & SMS indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password will also be sent. They can reopen the saved data using the Provisional registration number and password and edit the particulars if needed.
- Candidates are required to upload their – Photograph – Signature – Left Thumb Impression – A handwritten declaration as per the specifications are given in the Guidelines for Scanning and Upload of documents
- After that, the payment of requisite fees/ intimation charges should be paid through ONLINE mode only

IBPS SO Exam Pattern
This year the exam will be in two parts: Tier 1 or IBPS Preliminary Exam and Tier 2 or IBPS Mains Exam. This year IBPS change the pattern of IBPS SO Exam. The previous year there used to be only 1 examination then taken the interview but this year there will be a two-tier examination. The preliminary exam will be qualify phase to appear in Mains Exam. This examination is followed by an interview For the Post of Law Officer, IT Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, HR/Personnel Officer, and Marketing Officer Professional Knowledge Test.
IBPS SO Prelims Exam Pattern
The IBPS SO preliminary examination is of two-hour duration and is conducted online. It has 3 sections with having 150 questions in total with a maximum score of 125 marks. There is a negative marking in IBPS SO pre-exam as one-fourth marks are deducted for every wrong answer.

The Nodal Banks/ Participating Organizations may organize pre-examination training for SC/ST/Religious Minority Community candidates at certain centres as per the strategy issued by the Government of India. This is a kind of training session where candidates are acquainted with the type of questions, common mistakes, and tips for time management, best practices, basic tricks and approaches by experts from training organizations. The purpose is to give a level playing field to students from weaker sections that can’t afford coaching and make them aware about general facet and recruitment procedure of the exam.
Candidates belonging to the above-mentioned categories can undergo training by signifying the same against a relevant column, at the time of applying on-line.
The pre-exam training is free of cost with other expenses like travel, food and lodging expenses are incurred by the candidate. Generally, it is conducted five days before the exam and the dates are announced on the official website. Please find below an indicative list of training centres:

IBPS will have some additional centres or remove some depending on the requirement. IBPS SO Online Application
The registration for IBPS SO Exam 2019 will be done online. In order to avoid any technical errors please make sure that the web-browser used to fill up the IBPS SO 2019 Application form is one of the following:

IBPS SO Interview
A candidate should qualify both in the Online CWE (Main Examination) and interview and be sufficiently high in the merit to be shortlisted for subsequent provisional allotment process, details of which will be made available subsequently on IBPS website.
Candidates who have been shortlisted in the Main examination for CRP SPL-VII will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations and coordinated by the Nodal Banks in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS. Interviews will be conducted at select centres. The centre, address of the venue, time & date of Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter. Candidates are required to download their interview call letters from authorized IBPS website www.ibps.in. Please note that any request regarding change in date, centre, etc. of the interview will not be entertained. However, the conducting agencies reserve the right to change the date/ venue/ time/ centre, etc. of interview or hold supplementary process for particular date/session/venue/center/set of candidates at its discretion, under unforeseen circumstances, if any.
The total marks allotted for the Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of Online CWE (Main Exam) and interview will be 80:20 respectively. The combined final score of candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of total scores obtained by the candidates in the Online Main Examination of CWE- SPL-VII and Interview. Interview scores of the candidates failing to secure minimum qualifying marks or otherwise barred from the interview or further process shall not be disclosed.
Penalty for Wrong Answers:
A penalty for every incorrect answer will be marked in the Objective Tests of both Preliminary and Mains exams. Every wrong answer will be penalized by deducting 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question. There will be no penalty for leaving a question blank, i.e. in case, no answer is marked by the candidate.
Final Score Calculation for IBPS SO Exam:
There are certain important points on the basis of which the final score for the IBPS SO exam is calculated:
- Marks scored in the Preliminary Exam (Tier-1) will not be considered in the final score. These are only taken into account to qualify Mains Exam (Tier-2).
- Candidates need to qualify Phase-2 and Interview individually to be eligible for the final worth.
- The ratio of marks between the CWE Main exam and interview for the final merit list will be 80:20 respectively.
- The aggregate of 100 marks is used for the final merit list for each category. Candidates with high merit rank in each category are finally selected.

IBPS SO 2019 Result
The results of IBPS will be released after completion of three Phase of Examination. The Final Merit state wise and category wise list shall be prepared in descending order of the marks secured by the candidates in the Online Main Examination. Candidates who fall within the number of vacancies in the merit list shall be considered for appointment for the post of clerk in Banks.
